If I could have turned my clock forward years ago and understood some of the things I now do as a result of looking back in time, many things would have been done in a different manner!
Reading Rebecca's comment brought back some thoughts I had this morning about my Mom. I have always known her to be gracious, wise, intelligent, hospitable, etc. etc.! This morning I was moaning to myself about that when I suddenly realized I never knew my Mom in her youth! By the time I was old enough (age 11 or so) to be consciously analyzing her behaviour, she was 50ish! She was already at the point that Rebecca is talking about -- she'd already made her errors and straightened out her way! And now I have an 11 year old and am approaching 50 this year while Mom has her right foot raised to step into her 90th year in July. Here's hoping that history repeats itself and that in looking back and seeing where I would have done things differently that indeed I'll make those changes and straighten out the way ahead because there still is a future!
